What is Vacation Bible School? A “VBS” is an educational/fun event hosted by local churches for school age children. Age ranges vary from Preschoolers (potty-trained) all the way up to 6th grade. A Vacation Bible School typically has a kid-friendly theme that entertains the kids while also teaching Bible stories or life lessons.
These programs can be a great resource for families who want their children to experience a family friendly environment with a religious message. Parents can drop kids off, or stay and volunteer to help with the program. Some Vacation Bible Schools have a small fee to cover program costs, but most are free of charge.
