Cedar Rapids Area Free Meal Programs

First Lutheran Church Saturday Evening Meal Program

1000 3rd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: A warm meal with no qualifications for gaining access to the meal. They also provide personal toiletries on the 4th Saturday of the month.

When: Saturdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

First Presbyterian Church Sunday Evening Meal

310 5th Street SE, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: A warm meal with no qualifications for gaining access to the meal. They also try to provide winter season coats and personal toiletries as available.

When: Sundays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Green Square Meals

605 2nd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: Call for listing of senior dining locations and home-delivered meals in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn, & Washington Counties.

When: Monday through Friday, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Heritage Area Agency on Aging

6301 Kirkwood Blvd SW Cedar Rapids, IA 52404

What they provide: A warm meal. No qualifications for service.

When:  Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

St. Paul’s United Methodist Church: Neighborhood Meal & Enrichment Program

1340 3rd Avenue SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52403

What they provide: Warm, nutritious meal. Seconds as available. No limitations or qualifications for service. Service is especially for children, families and others in need. St. Paul’s serves Wellington Heights, Moundview and Oakhill neighborhoods.

When: (June – August) when school is not in regular session (Noon Meal) Closed on July 4th M,Tu,W,Th,F 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Mission of Hope Free Lunch + Food Pantry

1700 B Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: Services include free lunch and Bible study (M-F, 12-1), food pantry (M-F by appointment only), clothing closet (Thursdays 10 AM-2 PM), weekend meal sacks (Fridays, 10 AM-2 PM). The Salvation Army Meal Program + Food Pantry

What they provide: Warm, nutritious breakfast and lunch meal.

When: Breakfast 8-9am Lunch 12-1 M-F. Except for major holidays Appointments are preferred…call 319-364-9131.

Cedar Rapids Area Food Pantries

Open Hands Food Pantry – at Cedar Hills Community Church

6455 E Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids IA 52405

What they provide: Food pantry resources available twice per
month.

When: Monday from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Church of God 7th Day Food Pantry

1691 Airport Rd, Marion, IA 52302

What they provide: Food and clothing given away every Thursday, free of charge. Anyone is eligible. On each visit, the name, address, and number of members in the household are required in order to receive food.

When: Thursdays from Noon to 3:00 p.m.

Churches of Marion Food Pantry

First Presbyterian Church, 864 12th St, Marion

What they provide: Food provided for those in need. https://www.facebook.com/marionfoodpantry/

When: Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. | Limited, emergency
delivery available for those living in Marion. Can access form through Facebook Page or call (319) 775-0208. Tu,Th 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Linn Community Food Bank Pantry

First Presbyterian Church, 310 5th St SE, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: Provide a 3 day emergency supply of food to families on a first come/first serve basis. Need picture ID for head of household, and also social security numbers for yourself and every member of the household before you can place your order. Can use the food bank 12 times in one year.

When: Monday through Friday, 1:00-3:30 p.m.

How to volunteer/donate: Monetary donations are accepted, as are food donations. They can be dropped off directly. You can also host a food drive and donate that. Call 319-364-3543 with questions.


Metro Catholic Outreach

420 6th St SE, Suite 120, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: Food pantry resources that may be accessed as often as needed by appointment. Must sign up for food pantry during office hours Monday – Thursday, 9am -3pm. https://metrocatholicoutreach.org/foodassistance/

When: M,Tu,W,Th 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Linn County Veterans Affairs Food Pantry

Linn County Veterans Affairs Office, 1240 26th Avenue Court, SW, Cedar Rapids

What they provide: A food pantry for qualifying Linn County veterans and their families. No appointment is necessary.

When: The food pantry is open from 1:00-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

How to volunteer/donate: Checks and non-perishable food items are accepted year-round during the above food pantry hours of operation. In addition, the VA Office also accepts meat and fresh fruits and vegetables. If you are interested in donating to the food pantry, please call in advance at 319-892-5160.
