These bright colored, silicon cupcake liners are my favorite item in the kitchen right now. We keep a stack of them in the cupboard and I use them every…single…day. Whether its snack time, dinner prep, play time, or if I need to spice up a meal, these are my go to. They’re easy to clean, super cheap, and have more uses than you might imagine!
Order some on Amazon now and check out these 10 ways we use them in our home:
1. Snack Time
We always use these for snack time and fill with assorted veggies, Cheerios, grapes, or goldfish. They’re nice to set directly in little hands, on a high chair or on a plate. They’re the perfect size for a treat & are easy to quickly clean!
2. “Hot Mitts”
I would NOT suggest grabbing a 400 degree casserole out of the oven with these, but I’ve used them to take hot bowls of soup out of the microwave! Super convenient!
3. Dinner Prep
Especially with having a toddler helping in the kitchen, measuring out the seasonings or ingredients into these containers is awesome. My daughter can then just grab each liner of ingredients and dump! If you watch Food Network like we do, “mise en place” is the name of the game.
4. Sauce Container
I use these for a side of salsa or sauce for myself as much as I do for my daughter! These keep the condiments separate on your plate and are the perfect size for dipping.
5. Arts, Crafts, & Play
Aside from using them in the kitchen, we use these all the time for sorting her foam letters/numbers by color. They would also be great for holding beads, counting activities, sorting dried beans, or holding water based paint!
6. Spoon Rests
These are great for grabbing quickly to set a messy spoon or ladle on when cooking. They’re also great for “popsicle rests”… if your child doesn’t eat popsicles in one bite like mine..
7. Oven Omelets
Throw the liners into a cupcake tin or set on a baking sheet. Fill with scrambled eggs and let your kids mix in or top with whatever extras they’d like: mushrooms, peppers, cheese, tomatoes, etc. Bake until cooked through. Our toddler LOVES to help in the kitchen and these are a great breakfast or lunch!
8. Jar Opener
Since these are silicon, they are super grippy! I use them often to open new spaghetti sauce or salsa jars.
9. Meal Time
Make your toddler’s meal look a little more exciting with these colorful holders. For some reason, eating peas out of a bright colored, individual “bowl” is way more fun than usual. This would be great for picky eaters!
10. Baking Cupcakes or Muffins
And I suppose you could use these for the main reason these were created for…making cupcakes or muffins! Out of all the applications I’ve found, I haven’t actually used them for this yet. If you’ve tried, you have to let me know how they work! 🙂
Well have I convinced you yet?! These work great for us in our house with a little one and I hope they do for you too!
