Coming up with a Valentine’s Day gift for your man can be tricky. Valentine’s Day is such a cute holiday and I like to show my husband a little extra love that day with something thoughtful. I came up with some things that men typically like and then put a Valentine’s Day spin on them by using some fun and borderline cheesy puns. While keeping it inexpensive, personal, and creative, check out these Valentine’s Day gift ideas for your man!
Dude Hand Scrub
With the cold and dry winter air, our skin is thirsty for moisture and a good exfoliation. If your man’s hands are rough to the touch from the weather conditions or all that rough handyman work he’s been up to, treat him by whipping up this cinnamon sugar hand scrub! It’s quick to make, smells delish, and helps soften those rough man hands. After you’ve made the scrub, store it in an airtight container. I used a mason jar and dressed it up a bit using a brown paper bag, twine and attached a popsicle stick for use when scooping out the scrub. Let him know how much you love him and believe in him by attaching a tag that reads “My Man Can Handle It!”. The recipe I used is below!
Ingredients
1 cup coconut oil
2 cups of sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix the coconut oil and one cup of sugar with love until creamy. I used a hand mixer and softened the coconut oil for just a few seconds in the microwave. You don’t want it to melt, but mine was a little stiff to work with at first.
- Add the cinnamon and stir.
- Continue adding sugar until you’ve reached a consistency you’re happy with.
Baseball Lover Basket
For the man who loves baseball, you can create a baseball themed gift basket. For this basket, I threw in a baseball, a t-shirt, Baby Ruth candy bars, and some Cracker Jacks. You could also toss in some other fun items like baseball socks or cap, Big League Chew, peanuts, baseball cards, or your man’s favorite baseball movie. You can attach a card using some verbiage from one of the greatest movies, The Sandlot, “I’ll love you FOR-EV-ER”.
52 Reasons Why I Love You
I made these cards when my husband and I were dating. We used to stay up late playing cards, so I thought this gift idea was relevant and super cute! I came up with 52 reasons why I loved him. After printing the reasons on colored paper, I glued one to each card. I attached some photos of us throughout the book and used stickers to decorate some of the cards. Punch two holes in each card and use binder rings to secure like a book. He still keeps this gift around and hopefully glances at it when he needs a reminder. Let’s be honest, it’s crazy town at our house with a teenager, a tween, a toddler, and a pregnant wife!
Butter Him Up
Have you tried cookie butter? It’s heavenly, rich, and is one of my husband’s favorite indulgences. You can spread it on waffles, serve it with apple slices, use it as an ice topping, dip animal crackers in it, or eat it straight from the jar! No judgement! I was so happy to stumble upon a recipe for cookie butter and thought it would make the sweetest Valentine’s Day gift. You can attach a cute label that reads, “You’re My Butter Half”. You can find the recipe for cookie butter here.
BEER ME
If your man likes to come in and crack open a cold one, this is perfect. Grab his favorite six-pack or try one of those make-your-own variety packs and decorate the box with Valentine’s day colors. You can find some cute wrapping paper or use construction paper, attach stickers or pom-poms, and stick it in the fridge so it’s cold and ready when he walks through the door! Here are some suggestions for what to write on the card, “You make my heart HOPPY,” “My heart BREWS for YOU!” “Life is BREWtiful with you” or “You are the HOPS to my BARLEY”
Your Love Gives Me Wings
Chicken wings, they’re like the ultimate man food. I think I could get away with making wings for dinner every night without any complaints from my husband. Sure, it’s not your typical romantic dinner, but sometimes it’s more fun to have a laid back, get messy, and laugh kind-of-dinner. Saucy and spicy wings can be romantic in their own way. And of course, attach a pun and you’ve got Valentine’s Day in the bag, “Valentine, you give me WINGS” or “Valentine, you’re SWEET & SPICY.” Bow chicka wow wow!
Jerky Man
For the anti-Valentine’s Day man, I created the beef jerky bag. The label reads, “Even when you’re jerky, I still love you!”
If you’re stuck on what to get your significant other for Valentine’s Day, I hope you can use one of these gift ideas to show your honey some extra love this year!
