Fireworks Safety Tips

Fireworks are one of my favorite parts of summer! If you are wanting to set off your own fireworks in Cedar Rapids area this holiday season, Boom Boom Billy’s Fireworks in Marion (located at 901 50th Street in Marion, IA) is locally owned and cares about the safety and future of consumer fireworks in the state of Iowa. Safety Tips from Boom Boom Billy’s Fireworks:

    • Keep a minimum of 40 feet of spectator distance
    • Always purchase your fireworks from reliable sources
    • Follow label instructions & use common sense.
    • Always have close adult supervision & never give fireworks to small children.
    • Never point or throw fireworks at another person.
    • Use outdoors only in a clear area away from buildings, vehicles, and shrubbery. Have water handy.
    • Never carry fireworks in your pocket or shoot them in metal or glass containers.
    • Wear eye protection and never have any portion of your body over the fireworks.
    • Don’t experiment with homemade fireworks & never attempt to re-light a firework.
    • Put ball into tube with flat end down and with fuse extending out of tube.
    • Launch rocket from a tube or rack!
    • Light only one firework at a time.
    • When using sparklers, please have a bucket of water nearby to extinguish.
