The Spa Experience
I’ll be honest, I’m new to the “medical spa” world. While I’ve always been a big fan of facials, I hadn’t done many advanced facials before. I was a tad nervous. I shared this with Kortney, one of Ritual’s owners (and fellow toddler mama!). She was so kind and informative with her response and her service. She took the time to explain the science behind the treatment I was receiving. Kortney paused along the way to provide detail and a personalized experience. Days after my service, Kortney texted me to check in and see how my chemical peel process was going. Having her trained expertise readily available to provide additional direction and follow-up was so helpful. This just goes to show how intentional, professional, and kind these ladies are!
Photo by Floral Thoughts PhotographyIn addition to a Chemical Peel, I’ve received the Diamond Glow facial by Courtney (a different Courtney, and I promise not everyone there is named Courtney/Kortney). At the risk of sounding curt(ney… too soon?), the Diamond Glow Facial was like a deep cleaning vacuum for my pores. Courtney first dermaplaned my skin (fancy word for saying she shaved my face, because let’s be honest – we all have that peach fuzz). She then used microdermabrasion technology to exfoliate my skin while simultaneously sucking out the gunk from my pores and injecting ultra-hydrating serums into them.
While I certainly do not have the training these ladies have to provide you with all the fancy words and science behind this treatment, what I can say is that my skin felt INSANE after. I see why it is aptly named the “Diamond Glow” facial – my skin was glowing! Courtney was so helpful with my treatment follow-up care. She provided me hand-written directions on products to use, when and in what order. I never knew there was actually an order to how to apply skin care products!

If going into the spa isn’t up your alley, and you’d rather relax with friends on your couch, don’t worry – they do that too! Several weeks ago I hosted a mamas getaway weekend with a few of my closest friends. The ladies of Ritual brought the relaxing spa experience they provide at their brick and mortar to the comfort of my own living room. We were able to relax on my couch while IV drips infused with vitamins were hydrating us. They provided dermaplaning treatment to prep our skin for the facial services that followed.
My girlfriends and I were able to laugh, catch-up and enjoy a glass of wine while we were getting our treatments done. It was the perfect addition to our mama weekend. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something to do with the girls without having to go anywhere.
