How to Host a Favorite Things Party

Have you ever been to a Favorite Things Party? Better yet, have you ever heard of one?! If not, listen up because I’m going to give you the scoop on how to host one yourself. And when I’m done you’re going to want to call up your best girlfriends and put it on the calendar ASAP!!

How to Host a Favorite Things PartyWhat Is a Favorite Things Party?

As the name suggests, it’s a party where everyone brings their favorite things!! The actual number is up to you, but I usually set the number at three.  So each person picks one of their favorite things and brings 3 of that item. Next, you need to set a spending limit. The limit’s up to you, but $5-$10/item is a pretty budget-friendly number. This means each person’s item needs to cost that much or less. ($5/item x 3 = $15). You can also set a higher limit and have each person just bring one thing. Anything goes!

Wondering what types of items to bring? That’s completely up to you! Make it a general Favorite Things Party and see what everyone brings!! Or you can also have a theme like scarves, mugs, drinks, food, books, etc. If you love it, you can make a party out of it!

How to Host a Favorite Things PartyHow Does It Work?

Everyone writes their name on a slip of paper 3 times (or however many items you decide on), and puts their papers into a bowl. The first person introduces their favorite thing and shares what they love about it. Then they pick out 3 names and hand out their prizes!! If they choose their own name or someone who has already received that item, they put the name back in the bowl and draw a new one!! You continue until everyone has handed out their items. Once you’re done, everyone goes home with 3 new Favorite Things!! So fun!!

That’s it!! Easy peasy!! Now call up some friends and get to partying!! 🙂
