Fantastic First Birthday Gifts

In honor of Cedar Rapids Moms Blog’s first birthday this month, I have put together a list of great first birthday gifts! Take a look at this list for your child or one that you love!  Click on the names for links!

Big Ticket Items

Convertible Car Seats

You little one might have grown out of their infant carseat and may need a convertible carseat.  This would be a great gift to ask for and your child will use it everyday!

This tricycle will last with your child throughout the years by changing with your child’s abilities.  At first it’s like a stroller with an adult pushing it but transitions to a traditional tricycle.  This toy will be loved for years!

Sensory Table

These tables are great for littles to explore!  Take them outside in the warm weather for a water table or bring it inside when it’s cooler and fill it with dried beans or packing peanuts.

Practical Items

Seasonal Clothing

Little ones can enjoy the weather with a swimsuit or snowsuit depending on the time of year!  These are great gifts because they will be used over and over again!

As the little one starts to eat more table food this gift will be greatly appreciated!  Cups, plates, bowls and silverware just for them is a great gift because there will be plenty of meals these can be used for.

This silicone bib was hands down a favorite.  It’s not very well known but this bib is a life saver that parents will love!

Savings Bonds/Educational Fund Contribution

A monetary gift is something that is not only practical but will be very much appreciated in the years to come.  Some accounts even have cards that can be given to friends and family to make contributing even easier!

Oh the Places You’ll Go! by Dr. Seuss

This classic will be one will be loved throughout the years!  Make this gift extra special by including instructions on passing this book to teacher to teacher to write a note in as the birthday kiddo goes through school.

100 First Words

These bright and colorful books encourage language in little ones.  They will love looking at the pictures and “reading” it with you.

Llama, Llama Books

Any of the ‘Llama Llama’ books are fun reads!  With many to choose from these books will soon become favorites!

Scout & Violet

These stuffed animals are pretty high tech!  You can program them to say the child’s name, favorite color and food.  Scout and Violet will play sing songs, ask questions and even has a timer to play bedtime music!

V-Tech Picnic Basket

This toy is perfect for first birthdays and continues to hold a child’s interest.  The basket plays music and has play food and dishes for a pretend picnic.

Chunky Puzzles

These chunky wooden puzzles are great for little hands.  They are bright and colorful and come in themes such as shapes, farm animals, pets and insects!

With gifts like these you can’t go wrong at a first birthday party!

What are some of your favorite things to give one year olds?
