Crockpots & Commercials – The BEST Game Day Dishes to Share

This Sunday might be one of my favorite days of the year – the best commercials, the Half Time show, and a big game to get excited about. Truthfully, I don’t care who wins; I hope they all have fun. It’s a day to throw on your coziest clothes, turn on your crockpots (yes, I have more than one), and grab your favorite drink or cocktail.

Here are some of the best Game Day Dishes to serve this Sunday!

Bougie Buffalo Chicken Dip
I say “bougie” because it’s not your typical open cans and dump-them-in type of recipe – this one takes a little more time and effort, but it makes a world of difference.


1 rotisserie chicken, taken apart and cut into small pieces
2 blocks of cream cheese
1 cup of ranch dressing (If you want to be extra fancy, make the recipe on the ranch packet)
1 packet of ranch seasoning
½ to 1 cup of your favorite buffalo sauce (Frank’s is preferred at our house)
3 cups of sharp cheddar cheese – 2 cups in the dip, 1 cup to top (freshly grated is best)


Throw all ingredients in a crock pot on low for 4 hours – occasionally stirring. Top with 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese about 30 minutes before serving.

Midwest Velveeta Rotel Dip
Midwest – because whose mom and grandma didn’t make this?


1 block of Velveeta (any kind is acceptable, sometimes I will buy the Queso Blanco to mix it up)2 cans of Rotel (I really like to use the lime & cilantro kind)
2 pounds of cooked ground beef, turkey, or sausage (I like to season with salt, pepper, minced onion, and taco seasoning – season with your heart)


Add these ingredients to your crockpot on low for about 4 hours – occasionally stirring.

Other variations include adding fire-roasted corn, black beans, freshly chopped peppers, and more. You can’t mess it up!

Crispy Air Fryer Wings
We love wings at our house – not only can you make them exactly how you like them, but it’s also so much cheaper. You also don’t need all the fancy restaurant equipment to make them super crispy either; you’ll just need an air fryer!


2 pounds of raw chicken wings (we buy the big frozen bag of flats and drumsticks and let them thaw)
2 tablespoons of baking powder
Your favorite seasoning (measure with your heart; I love the Killer Hogs A.P. seasoning for almost everything – it’s a good blend of salt, pepper, and garlic. You can find it here.


Start by patting your wings with paper towels to dry them, this will help the baking powder and seasoning will stick to the wings. Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees. Pour your dry ingredients into a bowl and toss the wings into this mixture. Lay them out flat in the air fryer basket, and try not to let them overlap (this will ensure they stay extra crispy). Cook for 25 minutes, increase the temperature to 400 degrees, and cook for 5-10 more minutes. Be sure the internal temperature of the wings has reached at least 165 degrees. We use these meat thermometers at home from Amazon, and they can stay in while cooking! Let cool and toss into your favorite wing sauce!

Crockpot Meatballs
I remember my dad making these growing up – they’re too good to eat just one!


1 bag of frozen meatballs (not the Italian kind)
1 – 18 oz jar of grape jelly
1 –18 oz bottle of any BBQ sauce or chili sauce (for an extra kick)


Mix the wet ingredients in a crockpot, add the meatballs, and mix until covered.
Turn the crockpot on high for 2-3 hours or until warm. That’s it; it’s really that simple!
