There are a lot of comforting traditions that come along with the fall season. With cozy sweaters, crunchy leaves, warm soup, and colorful leaves, it is by far my favorite time of the year. The part I love the most, however, just might be the apple-cinammon-pumpkin-maple scents and recipes. So, when you’re heading out on a brisk morning walk, ready to curl up under a big blanket after the kids are asleep, or are lounging around on a weekend watching football – check out these easy drink recipes that might become a new fall favorite!

Crock-pot Apple Cider
This is a great recipe to let simmer in the crock pot while having guests over on a cool fall day. It makes the house smell amazing! It’s not from scratch, so it’s definitely the easy way out, but seriously…ain’t no one got time for that!
- 1 jug apple cider
- Cinnamon sticks
- Oranges
- Apples
Pour the cider in the crock-pot along with a handful of cinnamon sticks. Slice up the fruit, throw them in, and smash them around a little bit to get some juice out. Set on low for a few hours, then ladle into mugs with a cinnamon stick and fruit for garnish.

Homemade Pumpkin Spice Creamer
Since I can’t afford to buy as many pumpkin spice lattes as I’d like to this month, I found (and am addicted to) this homemade pumpkin spice creamer recipe. It makes a couple cups worth, but you can keep it in the fridge for one week…though I dare you to try to make it last that long!
- 1 and 1/2 cups heavy cream, half-and-half, or whole milk
- 2 Tablespoons pumpkin puree
- 2 Tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 1/2 – 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- 1 – 2 cinnamon sticks
Bring all ingredients to a boil on the stove for 1 minute. Let cool a bit and then add to your coffee. Seriously, its fall in a cup.

Maple Iced Coffee
It’s going to be hard for me to give up my iced coffee with the cooler weather coming! Adding some pure maple syrup gives a fall feel…plus drinking this with pancakes?! Yup, you’re welcome. Whether you use a cold brew or cooled coffee, try adding a teaspoon of maple syrup and a few tablespoons of milk or heavy cream. Stir in ice and try not to drink six!

Crock-pot Hot Cocoa
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 8 cups milk
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
This can be made on the stove or in a crock-pot to warm for a few hours. Be sure to stir every so often so the chocolate chips don’t stick to the bottom while melting. Top with whipped cream and caramel if you’d like! Oh, and just pretend you don’t know all of the ingredients because there’s nothing low-fat or low-sugar about this…
