Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re looking for some quick and easy DIY valentines, then you’ve got to the right place! We love to create our own valentines to give to our friends, classmates, and family. Some years don’t allow much time for DIYs, so we’ve definitely had our share of last-minute, mad dashes to Target to pick up cards. But I love it when the time does allow for DIY gift-giving. It’s so much more personal, develops fine motor skills if your kids are helping out and it’s a great way to bond with your kids.
I like to keep our valentine’s cheap, easy and fun! If you’re in need of ideas, I’ve rounded up a few cards that we’ve done in the past — all gender-neutral options! I hope these get your creative juices flowing.

Wheelie Good Friend
Supplies needed:
- Cardstock
- Tape or twine
- Scissors
- Toy cars
My son is absolutely obsessed with Hot Wheels cars. This valentine card DIY is perfect for car lovers! We simply printed out the cards, cut them, and taped a car onto the card using washi tape. You can also punch holes in the card, and tie the car to the Valentine using twine. These cards were for his friends at daycare, so the price of this DIY was fairly inexpensive since we only had to purchase a handful of cars.
Smooch!
Supplies needed:
- Photo of child
- Printer paper/photo paper
- Red construction paper
- Scissors
- Tape
- Candy (optional)
This valentine is so easy to do and hilariously cute! I took a picture of my daughter, used an app on my phone to add some text, and printed them out. Then, I used red construction paper to cut out lips to tape onto the card and attached chocolate.
Lollipop Love
Supplies needed:
- Staged photo of the child
- Lollipops
- Scissors
I love this one! First, take a photo of your child holding their arm out while making a fist. For this one, I had the pictures printed into squares at Walgreens after adding some text. Once the photos are ready, cut two small slits for the lollipop — one slightly above your child’s fist, and one below. Then, insert the lollipop and you’re good to go!
I’ve created two free printable valentines that you can use for your child! They are both free and easy to put together!

Once you click the link, you will be taken to a new window and the valentine print will appear. From there, you will print as you normally would. Then, cut the cards out and assemble as you wish! The apple valentines can be attached to an applesauce pouch for a healthy treat option!
If your little sweethearts use one of our printable valentines, please be sure to tag us so we can see it! We love connecting with our readers!
Happy LOVE day!
