The postpartum experience is so special, but it can be intense. Among the moments of overwhelming joy and love, there might be moments where you feel like you are in “survival mode.” As you are preparing to go through postpartum, don’t forget to include yourself on your list of things to take care of.
Preparing a self-care kit postpartum can be a great way to do that, so here are some ideas of what to include:
1. Water Bottle
#TeamStanley but for postpartum you need a trustworthy water bottle that won’t leak, like this one from Owala.
2. Disposable Undies
Ditch the itchy mesh hospital undies. These Always Discreet Underwear are stretchy and soft – a quintessential postpartum staple.
3. Ice Packs
The shape of these ice packs makes them perfect for using with a pad, or for tucking along a C-section scar.
4. Hydrogel Pads
Stick these Medela Hydrogel Patches in the fridge for soothing relief from the tenderness caused by the intense hormonal changes.
5. Robe
This bamboo robe is soft, thin, and perfect for the hospital and for at home. Postpartum comfort is a must.
6. Stool Softeners, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen
The hospital will send you home with some, but you’ll want to make sure you are stocked up for after those run out.

7. Teleties
Welcome to the mom-bun club. We love these teleties because they don’t crease or break your hair (keeping those postpartum flyaways at bay).
8. Compression Socks
Be prepared for the postpartum feet and leg swelling that a lot of women experience by having a pair of these on standby.
9. Peri Bottle
This Frida Mom Peri Bottle is a lot easier to use than the ones usually provided by the hospital because of the angled tip.
