June 13-20
Men’s Health Week is about the well-being of healthy minds and bodies. By raising awareness and focusing on healthy lifestyle changes we celebrate all the men in our lives, young and old.
Annual Checkups
One of the best ways to celebrate Men’s Health Week is to check in on yourself with your family physician.
Time to check those reflexes or an old knee injury that keeps flaring up. Does an upset stomach or digestive issue have you down? Maybe it is time for a screening that you have been putting off. Men’s Health Week is an excellent time to call and get an appointment on the books.
Taking the time for your annual checkup can help identify health conditions that may be primarily symptom-less early on, such as high blood pressure and cholesterol, or more serious such as diabetes or cancer. Early-onset detection can be crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment with routine care and lifestyle changes.
Prioritize Mental Health
Mental health conditions have risen, and men tend to suffer in silence. Mental health is as important as physical health and needs the same quality of care. Deciding to start a conversation with a friend or family takes courage and strength. You have the power to make a difference in their lives and your own by taking action.
It is time to break the stigma!
Let’s Do This Together
- Check in on your loved ones regularly
- Please encourage them to take symptoms seriously, no matter how small
- Engage in meaningful conversations
- Educate yourself
- Be supportive
