{EVENT RECAP}: Cedar Rapids Moms' Sisterhood Gathering at the hip-stir

Sometimes, team gatherings are far and few between, but there’s something magical when members of Cedar Rapids Moms’ can come together and visit face-to-face. Over lunch, members of our team gathered at hip-stir to enjoy delish appetizers, drinks, and conversations while cultivating relationships with one another at a local business in our community!

the hip-stir in Marion (located at 1070 7th Ave) is an eclectic, trendy, and modern bar and restaurant located in downtown Marion. It features barrel booths and the most unique assortment of Tiffany-style pendant chandeliers (stained glass light fixtures) to set the perfect ambiance, whether you are enjoying drinks, appetizers, or dinner!   Not only will the food keep you engaged and entertained, but so will the atmosphere!

Some of our team members refer to the hip-stir as “trendy, unique, with a big city feel” and “boujee, but comfy and welcoming”.

And, they have a great happy hour featuring 2-for-1’s every day (7 days a week) from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on all cocktails, beer, and wine!

While we were there, some of the items that we enjoyed were:

Thai Parmesan Mussels
Pork Belly Steam Buns
Seasoned Edamame
Harissa Cauliflower & Shishita
Baked Cheese
Bougie Waffle Fries
Creole Shrimp

Now, let me tell you, these appetizers were top-notch! Each appetizer was bursting with flavor, was aesthetically pleasing to look at, and had everyone asking for more!

As a frequent visitor of the hip-stir or frequent Door Dash delivery customer of the hip-stir, I’d strongly have to suggest:

Brown Butter Scallops
My mouth is actually watering looking at this picture. These scallops are hands down the best! Seriously, words can’t even describe this dish – from mushrooms to sweet potatoes, a herb-arugula sauce, and herbs, this entree gets my #1 vote every single time!
Soup Du Jour (ANY and ALL of them)
In fact, I’m typically the crazy one alternating between sending them a message on Facebook or calling them to find out the Soup Du Jour they have… because they are so dang tasty!
Seasoned Edamame
I honestly can’t even compare this edamame to anything I’ve ever had before — it’s literally amazing. It has the perfect amount of flavor and comes with an incredible dipping sauce, called Kimchi, making this appetizer my absolute favorite! Not to mention, even our two-year-old is obsessed!

It doesn’t matter what you decide to get, we are sure you will enjoy anything you try from the hip-stir. Thank you to the hip-stir for hosting our group!
