Theatre Cedar Rapids (TCR)

TCR Summer theatre Camps are a fun and interactive way to keep your creative child engaged and entertained this summer! We offer many weekly camp themes which all fall into in three categories: TCRPlay, TCRLearn, and TCRDo.
TCRPlay camps are considered introductory/beginner and are for kids at ANY (or zero) level of arts training! Using fun and popular topics, we work to sneak in the building blocks of theatrical art: storytelling, character creation and most importantly PLAY.
TCRGrow camps take the foundation of theatre training a step further with practical application. Adding in skills based training in dance, music, tech and more- these classes emphasize learning in real time.
TCRDo camps are 8 weeks in duration (with one week off for the 4th of July) and allow your camper to build an actual theatre production from start to finish! At the end of this rewarding experience, friends and family get to watch your show come to life on the TCR stage. This summer, we are producing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Grades 3-7) and a soon-to-be-announced title (Grades 8-12). Check out our website at theatrecr.org/summer-camp for updates!
