Materials Needed:

  • Empty egg carton
  • Scissors
  • Paint (white, pink, and any other colors you like)
  • Paintbrushes
  • Googly eyes
  • Pom-poms or cotton balls
  • Glue
  • Markers or crayons (optional)
  • Easter grass or shredded paper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Egg Carton:
    • Cut out individual sections of the egg carton to create the bunny shapes. You can cut out as many as you like, depending on how many bunnies you want to make.
    • Trim the edges of the egg carton sections to smooth out any rough edges.
  2. Paint the Egg Carton:
    • Paint each egg carton section with white paint to serve as the bunny’s body. You may need to apply two coats for full coverage. Let the paint dry completely between coats.
  3. Add Bunny Features:
    • Once the white paint is dry, use pink paint to add the bunny’s nose. You can also use pink markers or crayons for this step if you prefer.
    • Glue googly eyes above the nose to create the bunny’s eyes.
    • Attach pom-poms or cotton balls to the top of the egg carton section to make the bunny’s tail.
  4. Decorate the Bunny:
    • Get creative and decorate your bunny however you like! Use markers, paint, or stickers to add details like whiskers, mouth, or patterns on the bunny’s body.
    • You can also add accessories like bows, ribbons, or mini Easter eggs to make your bunny even more festive.
  5. Display or Gift:
    • Once your bunnies are fully decorated and dry, display them around your home as Easter decorations.
    • You can also attach a piece of string or ribbon to the top of each bunny and hang them as ornaments.
    • Alternatively, these cute bunny crafts make wonderful gifts for friends and family. Package them in a basket filled with Easter grass or shredded paper for a delightful surprise!

Additional Tips:

  • Encourage kids to get creative and personalize their bunnies with their own unique designs and decorations.
  • Experiment with different colors and textures to make each bunny special.
  • This craft is suitable for various age groups, and adult supervision may be needed for younger children when using scissors and glue.

This Easter Bunny Egg Carton Craft is a delightful way for kids to celebrate the holiday while also promoting creativity and recycling. Enjoy crafting and have a “hoppy” Easter!
