Bringing home a baby, whether it be your first, second or fifth is so exciting! And oh so exhausting. During those middle of the night feedings, or when you are finding yourself nap-trapped during the day with your phone in your hand, unable to move but too exhausted to read a book, it might be a good time to browse Instagram!
Here are my favorite accounts to follow, that provide information and community for the new mom.
Karrie is a postpartum and neonatal nurse, a lactation consultant, and a mom of four. On her Instagram she shares daily about life with her kids as well as educational content about postpartum topics. Relatable and knowledgeable you can follow how she talks about nursing, bottle feeding, postpartum care, and many other topics! Her Instagram highlights are very helpful to browse, and her daily stories make you feel connected to another mom in the trenches.
This account is run by two moms, Kristin and Deena a parent coach and a child therapist. They each share their daily struggles with two under two, fertility, or co-parenting. In their updates you can find resources on how to tame those tantrums and help you and your toddler thrive. However, even Kristin and Deena don’t always have it all together and they share refreshingly honest parts of their lives as they take their followers along on their family journeys.
Feedinglittles is the IG account from Megan, a dietitian and Judy a feeding therapist. Both moms share favorite recipes and guide us through challenges with feeding our kids. They discuss snack ideas, weekly grocery hauls but also give inspiration on how to keep your child interested at the table and try new foods!
A nationally certified child passenger safety expert and mom of two, Michelle educates caregivers about how to keep their children safe in the seat. Her main focus is on car seat safety from how to pick a seat to its installation; her account has many resources. Furthermore, Michelle shares snippets from her life as a single mom as well as favorite items she uses like car appropriate toys or travel tips.
This account started by Jenny, a mom of three, pools the knowledge of many professionals on what is commonly known as “baby lead weaning”. The database that is also available as an app, is a goldmine for parents of new table food eaters or those with picky eaters. If you are worried on what foods to offer first, how to prepare them and how to introduce allergens safely, solidstarts will be an incredible resource for you.
