Looking for a fun (and free) mom’s night out? Join the ladies of CommonGround Iowa for a Ladies Night Out on the Farm! CommonGround Iowa is hosting two interactive events this fall.
About CommonGround Iowa:
CommonGround Iowa exists to make food and farming more personal. Comprised of women and moms like you, CommonGround volunteers are women and moms like you but are also farmers and ag women. They share common values and expectations of the food industry with you! The Ladies Night Out on the Farm Events will give you the opportunity to see a farm first hand, ask farmers questions and learn more about the agriculture industry.
Event Descriptions:
Friday, August 27: Visit New Day Dairy, a dairy farm in Clarksville, and learn about how Rita the Milking Robot helps to milk 120 cows daily, providing milk and other dairy products for 8,500 people each day. Following the tour, enjoy dinner and chat with Iowa farm women to learn more about soybeans, corn, pork, beef, and dairy.
Saturday, September 18: Join us at JJB Cattle Company in Independence to enjoy an evening on a picturesque Iowa farm, learning more about where your favorite burger or steak comes from! Have dinner alongside women who farm and hear their stories about how and why they do what they do.
