Family Fort Night | 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. @ Hiawatha Public Library
Bring the supplies needed to create the best reading fort ever inside Hiawatha Public Library. You must arrive by 5:40 p.m. and kids must be accompanied by an adult. Pizza and drinks will be provided. Free, but space is limited. Registration required.
Fridays@NewBo: Frozen | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. @ NewBo City Market
Join us as we watch Frozen! When the newly crowned Queen Elsa accidentally uses her power to turn things into ice to curse her home in infinite winter, her sister, Anna, teams up with a mountain man, his playful reindeer, and a snowman to change the weather condition. The movie will start at 6:00 p.m. Come early to grab dinner from Market Shopkeepers, a drink from NewBo Beer and Wine, and a seat! Free & open to the public.

Healthy You, Healthy Family | 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. @ Downtown Library
Healthy You, Healthy Family is a health event for the whole family. There will be health screenings, resource fair tables, activities and short 20-minute educational presentations for all ages (infants to seniors) provided by multiple community agencies and providers. The event goals are to: screen individuals for various health needs, educate families & individuals about health and wellness topics, connect agencies/organizations with families through event outreach, and have fun! Free & open to the public.
Snowshoe Geocaching | 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. @ Wickiup Hill Learning Center
A fun way for families to get outside between the holidays. You will learn about GPS technology and geocaching, and then bundle up to head out to the trails to find hidden treasures on snowshoes! Your hidden treasures will be the clues for the ingredients for a delicious treat to warm you up with afterwards. This event will be held if there is not enough snow, and will be a geocaching hike. For all ages and experience levels. Snowshoes provided for the class. Snow boots needed to wear snowshoes. Please call 892-6485 at least 2 days prior to program to register. Cost is $2.50/adult, $1/child 16 and under or $5/family.
Once Upon a Teatime: Frozen Winter Princess Tea | 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. @ Ushers Ferry Historic Village
Hey princesses! It’s time for a tea party with all your favorite fairy tale BFFs! Anna, Elsa, Merida, Belle, Snow, Ariel, Jasmine, and others will help us decorate our winter wonderland. Can you guess whose table you’ll sit at? Dress in your princess best and join us for music, games, food & fun! Recommended for ages: 2+ years. Butterfly Kisses 2018 | 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. @ Doubletree by Hilton Cedar Rapids Convention Complex
Have an adventure in Candyland at Butterfly Kisses 2018! This annual daughter-date dance will be an afternoon of fun! Included in your ticket is a light lunch, professional photos and plenty of dancing. Proceeds from this event fund all Junior League of Cedar Rapids programs, from Bridging the G.A.P. to our scholarship fund and training programs.
