St Joseph’s Fun Days June 4, 5, 6

Enjoy a family-friendly carnival, live music, yummy food, games and more, all at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion. This event is open to the public and general entry is free. St. Joseph’s Fun Days Neon Fun Run/ 5K June 4

Celebrate St. Joseph Fun Days by participating in the Neon Run 5K or Kids Fun Run on the evening of June 4!  Runners and walkers, come decked out in your brightest neon attire and accessories to “Let your light shine!” This year’s event will kick off with a Kids Fun Run for children 12 and under at 7 pm, followed by the Neon Run 5K at 7:30 pm.

Prizes will be awarded for the top male and female finishers and best dressed runners in the Neon Run 5K.Following the race, participants are invited to enjoy all that St. Joseph Fun Days has to offer, such as food, beverage tent, live music, carnival rides, bingo, and more!  Your race bib will serve as a $3 coupon. https://runsignup.com/Race/IA/Marion/StJosephFunDaysNeonRun5K

Movie in The Park- Ely City Park June 4th- 8pm

Head over to Ely City Park to celebrate the last day of school and kick off summer with a good old fashioned Movie in the Park! The baseball classic, The Sandlot, will be projected on a screen in the outfield once the sun goes down. This is a free event & open to the public. Be sure to bring your own lawn chairs and/or blankets. The concession stand will be open for snacks and drinks throughout the movie.

The 10th Annual Marion ROCKIN Rendezvous is June 5th, 2021

Join us at Lowe Park for this day of music and fun supporting the Kiwanis Miracle League at Prospect Meadows.Your Marion Kiwanis Club will selling soft drinks and libations. Mini Pines Miniature Golf Course Friday, June 11

The Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to bring Mini Pines – an 18-hole, fully inclusive miniature golf course – to Cedar Rapids. Visit this new entertainment venue conveniently located next to Twin Pines Golf Course, 3800 42nd St NE, and experience multiple forms of fun in one easily accessed location. Miniature golf at Mini Pines is a socially distanced, outdoor activity for all ages that is enjoyable for every skill level.

Youth Fishing Clinic- Saturday, June 12th- 9 am-12 pm

The North Linn Fish and Game Club and Linn County Conservation will cosponsor a youth fishing clinic near the boat rental area in Pinicon Ridge Park near Central City. All youth participants will receive prizes for participating. No pre-registration is required. Licenses are needed for those 16 and up who will fish. Cost is free.

This is your opportunity to tap into your creative side and to be in nature while mindfully painting rocks!  Come enjoy this rocking painting event with Jodi from Big Heart Meditation and Mindfulness.  You will leave with a beautiful creation and feel better doing so!  This is a family event tailored for younger children (ages 3-6).  We provide all the materials.  Absolutely no painting experience necessary! Bubble Walk…Powered by Deetz- Saturday, June 19-10 am-2 pm

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois is excited to bring to you our first-ever Bubble Walk powered by Deetz! This FREE one-mile walk will start and end at the Helen G. Nassif Center for Women’s & Children’s Health of UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s Hospital and stroll through the picturesque campus of Coe College. All at will donations and proceeds will benefit children and families who stay in the Ronald McDonald Family Room at UnityPoint Health St. Luke’s Hospital to keep families close when they need it the most. It will be an open start – so come anytime between 10 am and 1 pm to make the walk. There will be stations throughout to entertain and motivate. Participants will receive a goodie bag upon completion as a treat for a job well done

Linn County Fair- June 23-27

The Linn County Fair– where our mission is to provide 4-Her’s, FFA members, and the youth of Linn County opportunities to showcase their accomplishments and talents in a safe family atmosphere! The Linn County Fair also provides cost-effective entertainment & educational activities for the guests of Linn County.

Full Moon Night Hike- June 24th, 8-9 pm- Indian Creek Nature Center

Lace up your hiking shoes and venture out at dusk to join a small group of adventurers for a guided night hike. The ICNC prairie and woodland trails will be lit by the light of the full moon, but you’ll also want to bring a flashlight or headlamp, just in case of cloud cover. Led by Director of Education Kelli Kennon-Lane, night hikers will learn a bit about the history of ICNC, get a look at some of the new trails opened in 2021, and explore some of our favorite spots on the property. Encounters with wildlife are sure to occur! Hikers should dress for the weather and wear bug spray. Children are welcome, including babies in carriers. (Strollers not recommended.) Friendly dogs on leashes are also welcome. $5/members $7/non members
