Hiawatha Farmer’s Market
Location: Guthridge Park
Time: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Come shop locally grown produce, baked goods, flowers, handcrafts, desserts, and more!

Fall Festival
Location: Bass Family Farms
Time: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM 

Join us for our opening Fall Festival Weekend at Bass Family Farms! Open 10-6 Saturday and Sunday!! Bring your family to pick out your pumpkins, shop our country store, and have some family fun! Activities include hay rack rides, giant jumping pad (NEW), sling shots, spider webs (NEW), 18 hole mini-golf, tire playground, pedal carts (NEW), GIANT tic tac toe, GIANT checker board tables, teeter totters, LIFE size connect four, GIANT Jenga, photo ops, candy corn bag toss, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin slide, corn hole and much much more!
Navigate through our corn maze and help figure out who captured Farmer Joe, with our interactive game!
Admission $10 per person, 2 and under are FREE!! Children must be supervised by an adult.

Grandparents Day 
Location: The Iowa City Children’s Museum
Time: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM

Calling all papas, mimaws, and nonnos! To celebrate National Grandparents Day, The Iowa Children’s Museum is offering $1 admission to all grandparents with the purchase of a child admission.

Full Moon Night Hike
Location: Indian Creek Nature Center
Time: 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Lace up your hiking shoes and venture out at dusk to join a small group of adventurers for a guided night hike.
The ICNC prairie and woodland trails will be lit by the light of the full moon, but you’ll also want to bring a flashlight or headlamp, just in case of cloud cover.
Encounters with wildlife are sure to occur! Hikers should dress for the weather and wear bug spray. Children are welcome, including babies in carriers. (Strollers not recommended). Friendly dogs on leashes are also welcome.
Pre-registration is required.

Paws to Read for Kids
Location: Hiawatha Public Library
Time: 6:30 PM to 7:00 PM

Gain reading confidence! Who let the dogs in? Join us for this popular reading program that pairs emerging readers with certified Therapy International dogs. Pull up a book and a dog and let the magic begin.

September 13

Location: Downtown Cedar Rapids Library-Children’s Program Room
Time: 10:00am to 10:30am
Join us at the Downtown Library for a fun-filled storytime for young children, featuring stories, songs, and other interactive activities. This program is designed for children ages 2-5.
Location: Wickiup Hill Learning Center
Time: 10:00am – 11:00am
Can you balance on a tight rope like a squirrel? Learn about the acrobats of the woods as you travel through different obstacles like our furry friends. Children enjoy a story and activities based on the monthly theme. Ages 3-6, but younger and older siblings are welcome. Caregiver should stay with child. Cost: $3/child.

Food Truck Tuesdays
Location: Newbo City Market
Time: 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM

The Market will host Food Truck Tuesday every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning May 3, in the Market’s yard and parking lot. A variety of food truck vendors will set up under the awning.

Free Yoga: Practice in the Prairie
Location: Indian Creek Nature Center
Time: 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Take your practice to the prairie as some of Cedar Rapids’ best instructors teach a different style of yoga or Pilates each week to keep you on your toes! Bring a yoga mat and dress for the outdoors. Class is held on the Amazing Space patio, and in case of rain, will need to be canceled.  Arrive a few minutes early to get settled and meet new friends.

Join us for $3 Wednesday’s at The Fun Station!
Admission into the Play Maze is only $3.00
Add on unlimited Climbing Walls for just $5.00!
Grip Socks are required for all participants. Grip Socks can be purchased at the front counter for $3.49
Location: Ushers Ferry Historic Village
Time: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Sunset Pumpkins: 5-6:30pm    Night Owls: 6:30-8pm   Bring supper with you and come out to Ushers Ferry for an early evening hayrack ride, bonfire, and simple craft before bedtime. The saloon will be open with popcorn and sarsaparilla available for purchase. Advance registration is not required. Free admission for children ages 5 and under.

Location: Newbo City Market
Time: 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Join licensed fitness instructors Alicia, Amanda, and Megan for a donation-based Dance Club Cardio class outside on the Bankers Trust Stage Thursday, September 15th at 5:30pm!
This class burns over 700 calories by combining cardio, dance, and strengthening exercises for a heart-pumping workout all set to your favorite songs! Get ready to sweat, smile, and show your swagger! All dance and fitness levels are welcome. Don’t forget a towel and water bottle

Join us at the Lowe Park Arts & Environment Center for nights of fun, socializing, and a chance to win some cash! Games of BINGO will be played for $.25 per card, per game. Cash prizes are paid to the winner of each game. There will also be a few bonus games with increased payouts before the night concludes with a winner-take-all game of blackout. Participants are welcome to bring outside food and drinks to enjoy while they play. PARTICIPATION FEE: $0.25 per card, per game NOTES: Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Seats and cards are limited and are first come, first serve. Once room reaches capacity, we, unfortunately, must turn people away

We are back at full capacity with entertainment, food vendors, and more than 150 amazing market vendors!
Location: 2nd Ave Bridge
Time: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM

In partnership with Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market, The Crunch Berry Run begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022, starting and ending at the 2nd Ave Bridge in Downtown Cedar Rapids. You will be covered in environmentally-friendly colored powder as you run or walk the route! The party continues after crossing the finish line on the 2nd Ave Bridge until 11:00 AM with crunch berries, music, family-friendly activities, and of course more color!

Alyssa is an Iowa native but fairly new to the Cedar Rapids area. Wife to Carter, and mom to her little man, Ronan as well as two fur babies, Jaxon & Minerva. She has a Psychology & Sociology degree from Loras College and Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University. In her free time, Alyssa loves to be outdoors; camping, fishing, sitting around a bonfire, or baking for her family and friends. Alyssa loves iced coffee, no matter how cold it is outside, binging Gilmore Girls or Parks n Rec and spending time with her family. Alyssa is so excited to bring moms together and explore the wonderful Cedar Rapids community!
