Guide to Farmers Markets in Cedar Rapids

‘Tis the season of farmers markets! Fresh produce, homemade crafts, cold-pressed juices, and more! Bring your kids, their wagons, the dog, and a mesh basket and shop the smells, sights, and taste all the beautiful local Danishes, wines, and peanut butter!

  1. Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market

The 18th annual market season features entertainment, food, and 200 amazing market vendors. Our award-winning market is THE summer event on select Saturday mornings in downtown Cedar Rapids!

Schedule & Location: Downtown Cedar Rapids 10AM to 1PM | Saturday, July 1, July 15, Aug 5, Aug 19, Sept 16 (Fall Market)

2. Marion Farmers Market

The Marion Farmers Market offers a variety of locally grown produce, fresh baked goods, flowers, homemade crafts, and much more. Stop by Taube Park on Saturday mornings, May through September, and check out the variety of goods that are produced locally

3. Noelridge Farmers Market

The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department operates the Noelridge Farmers’ Market at the corner of Council Street and Collins Road NE. Vendors sell fruits, vegetables, meats, and crafts to local consumers.

4. Hiawatha Farmers Market

Hiawatha Farmers Market opens the first Sunday in May and continues weekly through the last Sunday in October. Each week vendors from all over Iowa come together to offer a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, flowers, baked goods, honey, meat, arts and crafts and more!

Newbo’s mission is to foster regional economic development by uplifting entrepreneurs and artists through an equitable business incubator, accessible public programming, and a community gathering space

Schedule & Location: 1100 3rd St SE Cedar Rapids, IA 52401 | Mon – Wed: Closed, Thurs – Fri: 10AM – 8PM, Sat: 10AM – 6PM, Sun: 10AM – 4PM

6. Red Barn Market

Fresh sustainable vegetables, grown locally with love. The market also has fresh free range eggs, and locally baked fresh goodies on Fridays.

Schedule & Location: 4241 Johnson Ave NW, Cedar Rapids, IA  Mon – Sat 10 AM to 5 PM.

7. Morgan Creek Produce

Morgan Creek Market is located west of Cedar Rapids on highway 30. They grow a variety of vegetables, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, cucumbers, squash, beets, kohlrabi, and much more. They have chickens and sell eggs and also get seasonal fruit in from local growers. Everything sold is either grown by us or within 50 miles of the market.

8. Cultivate Hope Urban Farm

Hope Urban Farm grows fruits and vegetables without pesticides or herbicides right in the heart of Cedar Rapids. This fresh produce is provided directly to the community through Farmers Markets, sold at the Cultivate Hope Corner Store, used to make dishes at Groundswell Cafe, and used by the Youth Development Program to make wonderful bread, jams, and other value-added products.

9. Mt Vernon Farmers Market

Mount Vernon Farmers’ Market offers seasonal fruits and vegetables (including heritage varieties),grass-fed meats, artisan breads, cookies and sweet treats, eggs, and more.

Vendors bring a diverse mix of grassfed meats, produce, baked goods and crafts.

11. Youngville Cafe Farmers Market

The market features farm fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade items, flowers and plants and more.

12. Central City Mainstreet Farmers Market

The Central City Farmer’s Market has a variety of local vendors offering farm-fresh seasonal fruits & veggies, local honey, jams, jellies, homemade noodles, baked goods, and handcrafted items.

Schedule & Location: Veteran’s Memorial Park (south 5th Street) Central City, IA 4 PM to 6 PM | Thursday June 29 to Sept 28

13. Homestead Farmers Market

A place to get a bite to eat, a few local groceries and enjoy some music. Also sold are: baked goods, cheese, crafts items, herbs, vegetables, honey, jams, meat, plants, prepared food and soap.

14. Vinton Farmers Market

Music, entertainment, games, and activities held each week. Hot sandwiches served at our outdoor café. This market showcases the best of Benton County producers of fruits, vegetables, jams, baked goods, and more!

Schedule & Location: CELEBRATION PARK, 105 WEST 2ND ST 5 PM to 7 PM | Thursday June 29 to Aug 31
