Friday, May 18th

Hiawatha Bike Rodeo & Parade |  4:30-6:00 p.m. @ Guthridge Park

Kids and parents are invited to Hiawatha’s Bike Rodeo from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 18th at Guthridge Park in the 7th Avenue parking lot. Bike safety information, interactive lessons, and information will be taught by members of the Hiawatha Police Department and Northtowne Cycling and Fitness. FREE bike helmets will be available to the first 50 children who need them. Come decorate your bike and parade around Guthridge Park with the Hiawatha Police Officers at 5:30pm. Parents are encouraged to decorate their own bike and ride along too! Cost: Free

Saturday, May 19th

Spring into Summer Skate  |  11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. @ the CR Ice Arena

Spring into summer at the coolest place in town! Enjoy our carnival themed public skate with ice skating, broomball, carnival games, and crafts. CR Face Painting will be here from 12:00-2:00 pm. Music will be provided by Insanity DJ Services from 12:00-4:00 pm. Cost: $10 per skater and $5 per child 12 years old and younger.

Marion Arts Festival  |  9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in Marion City Square Park

Experience collaborative, creative merrymaking at its finest.  Join friends old and new 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 19th in City Square Park for the free, fun, and family friendly 26th annual Marion Arts Festival.  The Festival offers art, food, and family fun! 

Fancy Nancy & the Wedding of the Century Storytime  |  11:00 a.m. @ Barnes & Noble

Join us for Storytime and activities in celebration of the Royal Wedding. In this wonderful book about weddings big and small, Fancy Nancy helps out the bride and attends a fabulous party. 

Sunday, May 20th

Steam & Gas Engine Show  |  Saturday 9:00-4:00 and Sunday 9:00-3:00 @ the Seminole Valley Farm Museum

Come and join us at the Farm. See how technology of the late 1800’s and early 1900’s changed the ways we farmed. Come and watch steam engines run a saw mill or a thresher machine. You will see tractors of all colors and many other gas engines that made life easier for people in the early 1900’s. Visit with our venders and  crafts  in our flea  market area. You can ride a hay rake or even learn to drive a tractor here at the Farm.  There is something for the whole family young and old. Cost: $5 for adults and 12 and under free.
