Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat  |  7:30 p.m. @ Theatre Cedar Rapids; Shows on May 12th and 13th as well

A crash of drums! A flash of light! Andrew Lloyd Weber’s smash Broadway hit is exploding onto the TCR stage this spring! Join us for this high-voltage family musical and experience the Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors as it comes to vibrant life! Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock ‘n’ roll, this Old Testament tale will have your family dancing in the aisles! Cost: $31-40.

Rock the Block  |  5:30-8:00 p.m. @ Newbo City Market

Join us Friday nights 5:30pm to 8:00pm, May through September, for this free concert series featuring local bands playing on the Bankers Trust Stage. Families bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy great music, locally-crafted food and drinks, and games in the Market Yard. This week: Magnetos

Bloomin’ Tea Thyme  |  11:00 a.m. @ El Kahir Auxillary

Join the El Kahir Shriners for a Bloomin’ Tea Thyme luncheon and silent auction to benefit the Shriners Hospital for Children in the Twin Cities. Tickets: $15/adults; $10/kids ages 5-12; 4 and under FREE. For details on how to get tickets visit the Event Page.

Bird Banding  |  9:00 a.m.-Noon @ Wickiup Hill Learning Center

Drop in any time and stay as long as you like to have the opportunity to see your favorite birds in hand, maybe even your own hand. Licensed bird bander Rob Bradley, who has banded for Linn County Conservation for over 25 years, will introduce you to the techniques of bird banding. Cost: $2.50/ adult, $1.00 for children 16 and under or $5.00 per family.


Sunday, May 13th

Toddler Time  |  10:00-11:00 a.m. @ SkyZone

Bring your little one to get their sillies out at this special hour just for younger jumpers! Cost: $4 per child. Kids 6 and under and one parent jumps free.
