Curious Cats

Children enjoy a story and activities based on the monthly theme. This month we talk about all the kinds of cats found in Iowa, to go along with our spring break Cat Week.  Ages 3-6, but younger and older siblings are welcome located at Wickiup Hill Learning Center, Linn County Cost: $3/child.

Dollar Day at The Play Station

March 9 10:00am – 8:00pm

Join us for a $1 Day at The Play Station! Admission into the Play Maze is only $1.00 for children ages 1-15 and adults are free! 

  • Add on unlimited Climbing Walls for half price of just $5! 
  • This special rate is valid every Wednesday from 10 am to 8 pm. 
  • Grip Socks are required for all participants and can be purchased at the front counter for $3.49. 
  • $1 Days are not valid on Wednesdays during Spring Break Week

B-I-N-G-O Nights at Lowe Park Arts and Environment Center

March 11 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Join us at the Lowe Park Arts and Environment Center for nights of fun, socializing, and a chance to win some cash! Games of BINGO will be played for $.25 per card, per game. Cash prizes are paid to the winner of each game. There will also be a few bonus games with increased payouts before the night concludes with a winner-take-all game of blackout. Participants are welcome to bring food and drinks to enjoy while they play. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Seats and cards are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. No registration is required.

Spring Family Fun Days at the CRMA!

Is your family looking for a fun activity during spring break? Do you love art? Stop by the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art for scavenger hunts in the galleries and see who can find all the hidden objects in the artwork first. Your prize? A goodie bag full of art materials and instructions for art projects that adults and children can do together at home.Limit one take-home kit per child present. Available while limited supplies last. Eco- Explorers

March 16 10:00am – 12:00pm

The Eco-Explorer programs foster compassion, curiosity, and trust with the natural world by giving participants space and time to fall in love with the outdoors. Eco-Explorer days may include exploring, outdoor skills, animal tracking, nature, and sensory awareness, storytelling, plant and animal study, empowerment, and lots of fun and play! This is a drop-off program that encourages independence from the caregiver. Located at Wickiup Hill Learning Center, Linn County  We will meet out front by the kiosk near the parking lot at 10 a.m. for easy drop-off. Ages 5-9. Cost $10/child

Disney Princess The Concert

Dance Nation at Theatre Cedar Rapids

A pre-teen dance troupe—portrayed by a cast of ALL AGES, sizes, gender identities, ethnicities, etc.—navigates ambition, teamwork, and desire as they claw their way to Nationals in Tampa Bay. This acclaimed new play is fiercely funny, inventive, and full of inspiration.

39th Annual Maple Syrup Fest

March 26 & 27 9:00am – 1:30pm

Enjoy a taste of real, handcrafted maple syrup fresh from the tap, and stay for a weekend of family fun. The Maple Syrup Festival features syrup-making demonstrations, a look at the action inside the Maple Sugar House, and live music while you enjoy a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast with real maple syrup handcrafted at the Nature Center. Buy tickets at in advance and save! Tickets are also available on the day of the event. Adults: $8 advance; $10 door. Children: $4 advance; $5 door.

A good balance of part time fitness training at the Collins Aerospace Rec Center and stay at home mom life is what keeps Robin active. She is the mother of daughter, Bennett (4) and son, Brooks (9months). She met her husband, Robert, of 7 years on a blind date and it was movie like love at first sight but managed a long distance relationship until they became engaged and settled in Marion together after the wedding. You can usually find Robin and her family outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and exploring. When they aren't outdoors they love musicals, sports, fun events in the area, and all things that include time with family and friends!
