Hiawatha Tailgate in the Park- October 1, 5:00 pm

Do you like Football? Do you like the Hawkeyes? Then join us for a Tailgate Party in the Park! On Friday, Oct 1st the Friends of Hiawatha Park and Rec Foundation and Imon are partnering to broadcast the Iowa vs Maryland football game on our new 20-foot inflatable big screen! The screen will be set up in the Brown pavilion at Guthridge Park next to the N. 10th Ave parking lot. Game time is 7 pm. Food and drink vendors will have items available for purchase or you can bring your own. Starting at 5 pm family-fun games are going to be set up for you to enjoy so come early! Harvest Festival- October (all month)

Fall is alive at Bloomsbury Farm! Come enjoy all of our farm fun attractions, sunflower fields, pumpkin patch, photo ops, and more! You won’t want to miss our annual Sunflower Festival and Harvest Festival! **We are open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM between September 9th and October 31st. Crunch Berry Run October 2 9:00 am

Murals & More invites you to The Crunch Berry Run, sponsored by The Quaker Oats Company, an extraordinary, family-friendly, colorful fun run or walk – you choose how far you go, up to 5K! and Crunch Berries waiting at the finish line!  Color, color, everywhere! The colored powder will get all over you. It may stain fabrics and you may have to wash your hair a couple of times. Good thing you get a race t-shirt to wear! Fun for all ages! Strollers and wagons are welcome, just remember anything you bring on the route will be doused in color. Running is not required! This is a non-competitive event appropriate for people of all ages and abilities.

In partnership with Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers’ Market, The Crunch Berry Run begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 2, 2021, starting and ending at the 2nd Ave Bridge in Downtown Cedar Rapids. You will be covered in environmentally-friendly colored powder as you run or walk the route! The party continues after crossing the finish line on the 2nd Ave Bridge until 11:00 AM with crunch berries, music, family-friendly activities, and of course more color! 4th Annual Fall Harvest Festival Oct. 2 & 3- 10 am-4 pm

Join us at the farm for the 4th annual Harvest Festival! Featuring our farm-grown pumpkins, fresh flower bouquets + arrangements. The flower shop will be open + filled with fall Pine Hill Candles and autumn gifts. Shop from local handmade businesses both Saturday + Sunday at our local market. Kulas from Walker will be serving lunch Saturday & Apple Creek Coffee Co will be serving up amazing drinks + goods all weekend. Bouncy house for kids & fun for the whole family! Crafts to Go: Halloween Origami Fun-  October 9, 9 am-5 pm

Get into the Halloween spirit and make some awesome Halloween origami. Are you up for the challenge of making ghosts, pumpkins, witches, and monsters? Jack-O-Llama Family Paint Class Ages 5+ with Big Picture Art Studio at Prairie Patch Farm- October 9

Join us and learn to paint this adorable Jack-O-Llama in collaboration with Big Picture Art Studio and Gallery with the llamas in their Halloween best at Prairie Patch Farm! Two sessions are available on October 9th! 3-5 pm

Family Paint Class for ages 5+

6-8 pm 21+ Paint Night BYOB

$50 per ticket. Both sessions include all materials and selfies with the llamas!

Fall Festival at Bass Family Farms- Every weekend in October

Join us for another Fall Festival Weekend at Bass Family Farms! Open 10-6 Saturday and Sunday!! Bring your family to pick out your pumpkins, shop our country store, and have some family fun! Activities include hayrack rides, bouncy houses, slingshots, 18 hole mini-golf, GIANT tic tac toe, GIANT checkerboard tables, teeter-totters, LIFE size connect four, GIANT Jenga, photo ops, candy corn bag toss, pumpkin bowling, pumpkin slide, corn hole, and much much more! **New this year CORN MAZE, pumpkin house, GIANT Guess Who Game, and spider web. Admission is $8 per person, 2 and under are FREE!! Children must be supervised by an adult. FREE PARKING!! Don’t forget ice cream for purchase in our store, with 16 flavors to choose from!! Balloon Buffoon twisting balloon animals from 11:00 am-1:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday. Face Painting by Regan’s Face Painting is scheduled 10:00 am-1:00 pm every Saturday and Sunday. *Subject to change based on weather. Spin Art is back with paintings, t-shirts, and more! Harvest BBQ- October 10-12pm-2pm

Join us at St. Ludamila’s Catholic Church for a good old-fashioned BBQ to benefit the animals at the Cedar Valley Humane Society. $7 BBQ lunch, Dine-in, or Carry-out. 50/50 Raffle and Raffle baskets will also be available to enter and win at the BBQ.

Kids Day At Bass Farms- October 14, 9 am-12 pm

Come out to Bass Farms on Thursday, October 14th from 9:30-Noon for a fun morning exploring everything Bass Farms has to offer! A corn maze, a hayrack ride around the farm with learning experiences throughout, fun games, activities, and a free ice cream cone! The Bass Farm shop will also be open for shopping and we will have a wide selection of pumpkins! Get your tickets today, as we have a limited number of spots available. All children 2 and under are free and do not need a ticket!

10th Annual Wickiup Fall Fest Saturday, October 16, 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Outdoor Movie Night- Hocus Pocus  October 16- 6:00-9:30 pm

Join us for an outdoor movie night on the farm! Grab your blankets and chairs and enjoy some family fun! Family games are available to play up until the movie starts. The movie starts around dusk. Admission is $5 per person and 2 and under FREE. Ice cream is available for purchase on-site as well as food items and drinks in the retail store. Popcorn will be available for sale as well. Owl-O-Ween – October 19, 6-7:30 pm

Enter the nighttime world of the trails at Wickiup. Scary? Not really! Owls are amazing and interesting. Enter the nighttime world of the trails at Wickiup Nature Center. Participants will learn a bit more about these nocturnal creatures before we wander down the trails to attempt to call one in to visit with us. Costumes encouraged!

Movie Night at the Library- October 19, 6:00 pm

Join us for a fan favorite: Hocus Pocus. This movie is rated PG and is 1 hour and 36 minutes long. We will also have some spooky treats that you can munch on while watching the movie. Hiawatha Library

Trunk or Treat At Garfield-  October 22, 5 pm-6:30 pm

Lego Lovers-  October 23 1pm-2:30pm

Come out to Ladd and build some LEGO creations! Get ready for some LEGO fun! Complete mini-challenges and share your LEGO creation with the rest of the group at the end of our session. Spooktacular @ Wanatee Park- Thursday October 28 5pm-7:30pm

Spooktacular is a fun evening for all! Children of all ages are welcome to come to trick-or-treat from local businesses and create Halloween- inspired crafts, while moms and parents shop + learn from local businesses! Eat + Drink + Enjoy some “spooktacular” surprises!

Children are encouraged to dress up in their Halloween costumes. Event by The Design Studio, Sisters Marketing + Co, and Cedar Rapids Moms. Event held at Wanatee Park. Tickets are $6 +fees, or pay extra for professional photos of your kids in costume!

What is better than a spooky craft? A spooky craft that you can eat! Join Alicia at the Hiawatha Public Library to make Graveyard Pudding Cups, Ghost Lollipops, and a Witch Hat Treat. This program is for kids ages 3 – 12

Halloween at the Farm- October 30, 9 am-6 pm

Join us for our last Fall Festival Weekend at Bass Family Farms! It’s Halloween on Sunday so let’s go all out! Wear your costumes and have some fun!

Halloween at the Market (Iowa City Farmers Market)- October 30- 10 am-12 pm

All are invited to come in costume and trick-or-treat at the vendor tables. Costume parade at 10 a.m. where kids and parents gather at the north side of the Chauncey Swan Parking Garage. Stick around to decorate a pumpkin to take home! This event is free, and kids of all ages are welcome.

Halloween Story Time- October 30- 10:30 am

Let’s start a Halloween celebration a day early with stories, songs, and in-house trick-or-treating at the Hiawatha Public Library.  Wear your costume! Young kids and their caregivers are welcome to attend.
