Snow have you going stir-crazy?
As parents, we start to run out of ideas to keep our kiddos busy during these long winter months. Playing in the snow is a whole lot of fun, but sometimes we would like to enjoy an indoor activity to keep us busy and make memories.
There are so many places to go in the area, so I picked a few to share.

The Play Station
The Play Station is a huge indoor play maze for kids to climb, jump and run about. They also have climbing walls, a toddler play area, an arcade area with Lazer frenzy, and food. This is a great way for kiddos to burn off energy and have so much fun. They offer birthday parties and group outings as well!

The Shell
The Shell is an indoor playground area located on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids. It is ideal for children ages 1-6 years old. Older children are welcome; they just ask that they be respectful of the little ones playing. There is so much to do! You can find ride-on toys, bounce houses, slides, giant building blocks, balls to kick and throw, and so much more! It is a huge indoor area with so much room for kiddos to run around and play with others. You can book birthday parties and field trips here as well.
Super Skate
Super Skate is a roller-skating rink here on the northeast side of Cedar Rapids. This is a great place to take the family for a nostalgic fun time! They offer skates to rent and a snack bar. Enjoy a fun day with skating to music! They offer packages for birthday parties and other rentals.
Speedeezz Indoor Karting
Speedeezz Indoor Karting is a go-kart track on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids. They offer go-karting, an arcade area, food, and birthday party packages. Riders must be 36” to ride with a licensed driver or 54” to drive on their own. This would be an exhilarating family outing!
Dragon’s Lair
Dragon’s Lair is a family adventure center on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids. They offer archery tag, indoor laser tag, multiple escape rooms, and a smash room! Choose your adventure for the escape room or beat your friends and family in a Call of Duty type experience laser tag! This adventure center has so much to do, your family will love it! They also offer birthday parties and event rentals.
Cedar Rapids Public Library
The Cedar Rapids Public Library has two locations in town–one on the southwest side and the other downtown. The public library is an underrated trip away from the house. My family members are huge bookworms and have zero self-control when it comes it buying books to indulge in. The library offers book clubs, storytime, trivia night, crafts for holidays, a summer reading program, and so much more! They also offer rooms to rent for parties or other events. Going to the library is such a peaceful trip for everyone to enjoy.
The Iowa Children’s Museum
The Iowa Children’s Museum is located inside the Coral Ridge Mall in Coralville. The museum focuses on five main skills for your kids. Arts & Culture, Financial Literacy, Healthy Kids, School Readiness, and STEM. They have a train room, hospital area, grocery store, craft room, flight room, and so much more! Parents can watch the imagination go crazy within their kids as they have a fun-filled day at the museum. The museum is available to rent as a whole, rent a space for birthday parties, and they also have events throughout every month.
