The weather is turning nice! What better way to celebrate than enjoying some time outside with family in one of the many parks the Cedar Rapids Area has to offer! You don’t have to be a seasoned athlete to enjoy some fresh air. Plus, your kids will return joyful and possibly a bit more exhausted and ready for bedtime.

Here’s a list of our favorite Cedar Rapids parks that also have great trails!
Bever Park
2700 Bever Ave SE, Cedar Rapids
With its large footprint and variety of amenities (hello petting zoo!) this is a great option for any family.
Amenities: restrooms, water fountain, playground, pool, trails, pavilion, softball field, tennis courts and Old MacDonald’s Farm.
Cherry Hill Park
341 Stoney Point Road NW, Cedar Rapids
In the NW corner of Cedar Rapids, this park offers something for everybody.
Amenities: restrooms, water fountains, playground, pool, crushed stone trail, pavilion, baseball and soccer fields and basketball courts.
East Knoll Park
A great option for those closer to the North side. The paved trail is fun for trikes, bikes, and scooters!
Amenities: restrooms, playground, paved trail, pavilion, soccer fields, basketball and volleyball courts.
Ellis Park
2000 Ellis Blvd NW, Cedar Rapids
Right next to the Cedar River, this park is great for those who enjoy some waterside views. The trail is also part of the Cedar River Trail system.
Amenities: restrooms, water fountains, playground, pool, paved trail, pavilion, baseball field, basketball and volleyball courts and fishing.
Guthridge Park
Ample parking and multiple playgrounds make this a great option!
Amenities: restrooms, playground, splash pad, paved trail, pavilion, softball field, basketball and volleyball courts and horseshoe pits.
Huntington Ridge Park
Small, but mighty park with an ample playground area. Perfect for an afternoon stroll.
Amenities: water fountain, playground, trails and shelter.
Morgan Creek
Enjoy the flowering trees in the Spring or spend an entire afternoon exploring this extensive park just outside of town.
Amenities: playground, crushed stone and prairie trails, shelters, soccer field, picnic areas, arboretum and campground.
Noelridge Park
4900 Council St NE, Cedar Rapids
Need a park that has everything? Well, this is it. Plus, it has an all-inclusive playground so kids of any age and ability can enjoy some time outside.
Amenities: restrooms, water fountain, playground, pool, splash pads, trails, pavilion, baseball field, and tennis courts.
Squaw Creek
On the East side of the area, this park has a lot to offer, including a park for your furry friend!
Amenities: playground, trails, campground, and dog park.
Thomas Park
Great for kids of all ages, though a bit crowded at times. It’s connected to the Boyson Trail.
Amenities: restrooms, water fountain, playground, pool, splash pad, trails, pavilions, basketball courts, horseshoe pits, and disc golf.
Tucker Park
Perfect for the little ones, as everything is nearby.
Amenities: restrooms, playground, splash pad, trails, and pavilion.

- Boyson Park Trail, from Hanna Park to Boyson Park, 2.4 miles (bring insect repellent!)
- Cedar Valley Nature Trail Trail, connecting Linn County to Waterloo, 51 miles
- Palisades-Kepler State Park, 6 miles of trails within the park system
- Pinicon Ridge Park, 5 trails between 1-2 miles long
- Sac & Fox Trail, runs along Indian Creek and Cedar River, 7.1 miles
