Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department

The Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department offers swim lessons to kids ages 6 months to 11 years. The department is an American Red Cross Licensed Swim Lesson Provider and offers swim lessons in the Bender (indoor, year-round), Bever, Ellis, Jones, Noelridge, and Cherry Hill pool locations. Sessions range from 2-6 weeks (depending on pool and day of the week). Prices range depending on resident/non-resident status and session chosen. Pre-registration is required since space is limited.

The following classes have age ranges associated with them as a guide. You need to evaluate your child’s skills to find which class is better suited for them. Not all classes are available at all pool locations. For further assistance, contact the department directly at 319-286-5566. Once the child graduates from one class, which may take several sessions, s/he can move up to the next level.
