Cedar Rapids Halloween Activities & Events
Fridays in October starting at sunset @ NewBo City Market, 7pm to 9 pm
There will be a spooky Halloween movie playing every Friday this month! Be sure to bring something to sit on!

- October 20 (Friday) and October 21 – Rocky Horror Picture Show *8-9:30p.m.
October 22nd, 5pm-9pm @ Lowe Park
Ghosts, goblins, goodies and games! This is a night for the kids as we celebrate all things Halloween. Drop your kids off and let the Marion Recreation staff lead them through a night of spooky games, crafts, snacks, and more. A limited number of spots are available. For children in grades K-5. $28 per child, registration required. Being a blanket or towel for the movie (if time allows).
October 28th 3pm-5pm @Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Enjoy a fun way to trick-or-treat with the kids! Trunk or Treat provides a safe environment for families to enjoy a free afternoon of Halloween fun. No costume? No Problem! Come as you are. At Good Shepherd, we go beyond trick-or-treat candy with photos, crafts, games, and plenty of fun. Thanks to our large indoor space at our Cedar Rapids campus, Trunk or Treat occurs rain or shine.
Monster Mash Bash
October 28th, 3 – 7pm @ Solon Rec and Nature Area
Join us for a spooktacular Trunk-or-treat event at the Solon Recreation and Nature Area! This free family event invites children of all ages to enjoy decorated vehicles and trick-or-treat for tasty sweets!
October 22nd, 1-4 p.m.Ushers Ferry Village
Bring out the kids for an old-fashioned Halloween filled with trick-or-treating, games, and costume contests. The fee is only $5.00. For questions or comments please contact Ushers Ferry at 319-286-5763.
Thursday, October 26th, 4pm-4:30pm @ Hiawatha Public Library
Tweens, here is the challenge. Prove that something can be both spooky and delicious! Youth 9-12 are invited to decorate cupcakes with a Halloween theme.
October 20th, 6pm-8pm @ Ely City Park
The City Park pond will come aglow with floating pumpkins! There will also be fire pits to roast marshmallows, along with spooky music. Ely Parks and Recreation will be selling $1 s’more kits, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and other beverages during the event. Bring snacks and something to sit on!
October 27th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. @ El Kahir Shrine
The El Kahir Shrine Auxiliary hosts Trunk or Treat at the El Kahir Shrine Center on Friday, Oct 27th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. All are welcome.
Saturday, October 28, 10-10:40am @ Ladd Library (Opportunity Center Classroom)
Join us for some scary LEGO fun as we build our monsters, complete LEGO challenges, and answer monster trivia!
October, 10 am-6pm @ Bass Family Farms
Join us for our Fall Festival in September and October! Bring the family to enjoy a hay rack ride, pick out your pumpkins, or shop our specialty food store for the best-tasting apple butter or a scoop of Snap O’ Lantern ice cream on a crunchy waffle cone!
An admission entry fee is required to play in our activity area and enjoy a hay rack ride and navigate the corn maze!
