1. Indian Creek Nature Center | Marion, IA

If nature is your thing, there are so many beautiful spots on the prairie, in the tallgrass, or under the cozy pergola! Sunset views are gorgeous anytime of year!

2. Palisades-Kepler State Park | Mt Vernon, IA

Located right along the Cedar River, this state park features views of the water, limestone, tallgrass, and tree lined fences throughout. Dip your toes in the sand or walk the trails for candid, scenic shots.

3. Big Grove Brewery | Cedar Rapids, IA

Cheers! Clink your glasses under the twinkling lights or sit fireside on the the outdoor patio. Great for couples, or a fun back-to-school shoot with lemonade and burgers! This new spot opens in November, but there is also one in Iowa City!

4. New Bohemia Neighborhood | Cedar Rapids, IA

There is something so quaint and classic about this area. Brick buildings, wall art, sculptures, rich history, and scenic views of the river. Lots of great outdoor patios and backdrops of bridges, too!

5. Lake Macbride | Solon, IA

Talk about dreamy. Wooded forests, winding trails, beaches, limestone lined roads, and a walkway of water! Perfect for any time of the year with so many great spots within the area to choose from.

6. Rock Island Botanical State Preserve | Cedar Rapids, IA

Wildflowers, large open fields, sand prairie, climbing stairs, tall pine trees, and more! Located near Seminole Valley, This hidden gem is home to many rare species of butterflies, turtles, and plant species.

7. Czech Village Area | Cedar Rapids, IA

This area is full of history and character. Old timey storefronts, clock tower, outdoor patios, the bridge overlooking the Cedar River, and the bandstand gazebo all offer fun, candid photo opps for family photos.

8. Sutliff Farm & Cider House | Lisbon, IA

This family-owned 40 acre farm is just north of the Sutliff Bridge Cedar River crossing. It features a historic barn (during the holidays, they have fresh-cut Christmas trees!) plus a ciderhouse and outdoor patio for rustic, down home photos.

9. Wanatee Park | Marion, IA

Right off HWY100 is Wanatee Park – winding trails, an abundance of tall maple & evergreen trees, fields of wildflowers, and rolling hills. Its picturesque views are amazing any time of year, but especially when the leaves turn!
