Japchae (잡채), or Korean glass noodle stir fry, is a super popular noodle dish that’s great for holidays, special occasions, and even as everyday meals. It’s sweet and savory and made with bouncy sweet potato noodles, meat, eggs, and lots of veggies. Enjoy this japchae on its own or pair it with some beef bulgogi!
Bulgogi (불고기) literally translates to “fire meat,” simply meaning, meat cooked over fire.Traditionally, beef bulgogi uses marinated, thin cut beef and is cooked in BBQ grilled right over the fire to get that nice char flavor. To make it more home kitchen friendly, bulgogi is often stir fried on stovetop griddles or cast iron pans.
