Meet Jeanni Kutz
Hi, I’m Jeanni Kutz. Over the past few years, home has looked very different for me. I have been fortunate to call northern Minnesota, the east coast of the USA, and southern China home. Along with my husband, Brad, and our four children I now call the Cedar Rapids area home.
After completing a degree from the University of Concordia St. Paul I was blessed to teach in early childhood classrooms for 7 years. Being a mom has always been my heart’s greatest desire and in 2012 my son was born and my life changed forever. Yes, you are right. That is such an absolutely cliche statement, but it is so true! I am now a momma to a crew of four, three little ladies and one gent. Our house is a mix of soccer balls and tulle tutus. Memories mean everything to me, and whether it is a nightly dance party or trips across the country, I strive to create lasting memories for our Kutz crew.
I have a strong desire to save everything that my littles touch. My husband will call that a problem, I will call it being sentimental. When my son was first born I began a love/hate relationship with the passage of time and I became obsessed with having my all of my children photographed often because I could see how fast they were growing. I wanted to make time stand still, even for a just a moment. Insert my love of photography. Largely self taught, I began photographing seriously in 2013. I love to explore the Cedar Rapids area looking for special spots, where the light is just right, and I can capture the “realness” of each of my children. I often document our family’s little moments on my blog.
Most days I am fueled by a strong cup of coffee. Potato chips and bubble gum are a major weakness for me and I always have time for my BFF, cupcakes. I find beauty in all the old and rusted treaters of this world, when I grow up I want a house on the beach, and if I can teach my children to actually be friends as adults, my momma heart will be full.
I am thrilled to be included in this group of creative mothers that also call the Cedar Rapids area home and I look forward to building a stronger connection to our local community. My heart may belong to Minnesota, but Iowa, you have won me over with your many rolling farm fields and quaint rustic barns.
Welcome, Jeanni!!
